Irmgard Sonnen


Prof. hc Irmgard Sonnen is an accredited designer of Visual Communications. She founded her own design studio for Corporate and Editorial Design in 1978. Since 1981 she has been teaching Communication Design at theUniversity of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf. In 2008 she held an interim professorship at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal. Since 2010 she has also held an interim professorship at the University of Applied Sciences in
Düsseldorf and in 2012 she was awarded an honorary profes-sorship. Her works, and those of her students, have been published internationally and have received numerous honors like the
'red-dot-design-award'.
From 1994 until 1996 Irmgard Sonnen also served on the board
of »The Forum of Female Designers«. In addition to her professional work she is active in juries, exhibitions and lectures.
In 2007 she founded Queredo Publishers where she designs books that incorporate graphic-, poetic-, literary- and design-art.
